Matthew O'Rourke, Rachel Rakushkin, John Kerr, Madhav Kappa AM (Applied Magnetics) Aerospace: Applied Magnetics (AM) Aerospace provides qualification testing and calibration services primarily for Low-Earth-Orbit (LEO) cube satellites (CubeSats), which are defined by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as a type of space research nanosatellite. Launching CubeSats can be prohibitively expensive for startups and student organizations, costing hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars and scheduled years in advance. Their custom-built magnetic field generator provides testing for CubeSats at a fraction of traditional costs.
