Join us for an exciting evening as we celebrate NUCEE’s incredible journey and mark the 15th anniversary of our IDEA Student-led Venture Accelerator and the 10th anniversary of our Venture Mentoring Network (VMN).   • TIME SENSITIVE / BOSTON / EXCELLENT LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY

    FastForge Hackathon: High School Hackathon for Next-Gen Product Creation, Volunteers Wanted!

    Calling industrial designers, engineers, marketing dynamos, and branding and design experts! We need your leadership in guiding teams of Boston high school students for the day! Whether you want to volunteer individually or bring a team from your organization, we welcome your involvement!

    When: Friday, 11/1/24 · 8:30am - 6pm EDT

    Where: Artists For Humanity, 100 West 2nd Street Boston, MA 02127

    Industrial Designers, Engineers… 
    Think you can model & render the next great product in only 4 hours?
    Step 1: High school students give you the defined product concept & the target user
    Step 2: You make it beautiful in only 2-3 hours. Surface model only. CAD & CGI. Step 3: Measure and cut cardboard, then add motion with off-the-shelf motors. Skills Required: The ability to create a surface model and on-white renderings of a product on your device.
    Marketing, Brand Experts, Designers
    Think you can market & pitch the next great product in only 4 hours?
    Step 1: Conduct naming and branding sprints with students to come up with product name, logo and tagline copy
    Step 2: Use Figma or PowerPoint template to create landing page prototype & pitch presentation
    Step 3: Help the students build and come up with a pitch! Skills Required: Familiar with marketing design sprint process, mentorship and creative leadership, have design software(Adobe, Figma, PowerPoint, etc.) on your own laptop!

For Ventures 🚀 

  • Roux Institute: Applications for the Future of Healthcare Founder Residency, which invests $50,000 in early-stage health tech companies and gives them access to our partner healthcare systems Northern Light Health and MaineHealth, are now open!
    The Residency is designed to support digital health, healthcare technology, and clinical innovation founders at the earliest stages of their entrepreneurial journey, front loading 3 months of workshopping, and site visits, followed by 9 months of ongoing support and application.

  • Roux Institute: In September, the Roux Institute celebrated the launch of the ClimateTech Incubator! Seed-funded by the Maine Governor's Energy Office, the incubator positions Portland as a leading hub for climatetech innovation, bringing together entrepreneurs, researchers, investors, and government and industry leaders to address critical climate challenges.

    Members have access to desk and prototyping space as well as to a curated network of mentors, investors, professional services, and the Roux’s academic and research expertise.   • 10/26/24 - Join us at IDEA Con 2024—a one-of-a-kind gathering of student innovators from across New England—at Boston University on October 26, 2024! This is a great opportunity to network with students and recent alums from over 20 schools. Whether you're mingling over breakfast, attending workshops, or enjoying a dessert reception, you'll be surrounded by future leaders and changemakers. Our Managing Director Marie Meslin will be running a workshop on how to network your way into the Boston Startup Ecosystem!
