As a Northeastern-affiliated founder, you have access to MANY funding sources on campus. Please read more on them below.
Grant Applications
$1,500 grant for Northeastern Undergraduates building a new product. We want to help pay for the inputs you need to take the first step.
$5,000 grant for Alumni, Graduate students, and Faculty to build a prototype.
$10,000 grant available to all ventures in the ‘Go’ stage of IDEA. Ventures can receive this fund up to 3x. Applications open every other month.
Women Who Empower (WWE) Innovator Award
The WWE Award recognizes changemakers in Northeastern’s entrepreneurial ecosystem—and provide them with capital, resources, and network. Open to students, alumni, and faculty. Applications open once per year.
Co-op
Did you know you can GET PAID to work on your own venture full-time? The Sherman Venture Co-op provides Northeastern University founders the opportunity to develop their own venture over the course of a six-month period.
Open to: any Northeastern undergraduate or graduate student
Pitch Competitions
E-Club’s Husky Startup Challenge (Boston, Oakland, London)
A semester-long bootcamp designed to research, design, and iterate ideas into a full-fledged product. Finalists compete at Demo Day for up to $10,000. For early-stage ideas and companies. Occurs every semester.
Disrupt’s Finnovate (Boston)
An 8-week long program where students will be challenged to create a new innovative idea in the FinTech space that aims to disrupt the traditional financial service industry. Occurs every semester.
ViTAL’s Husky Health Innovation Challenge (HHIC) (Boston)
HHIC is a healthcare-focused case competition. This event is open to ALL undergraduate students in the Boston area. In teams of three to four, participants will propose innovative digital health solutions to a salient issue in healthcare identified as the topic of our case. Winner gets $1,000.
Fundraising Assistance
Huntington Angel Network (HAN)
HAN is a student-run organization whose mission is to grow the Northeastern venture community by connecting vetted and investment-ready start-ups to a global investor network of angel investors and venture capital firms. HAN helps founders hone their pitch as they raise money.
